Mishaps and Memories

Aug. 6, 2008 - forecasts....

OK... so've decided to head down channel.... forecast has been looking great all week... Nw'lies, so a reach the whole way..... perfect..... until today's revised forecast.... now SW'ly, on the nose the whole way, and increasing to 22kts......

 

Where the heck has August gone?

 

Ah well.... i'm sure we'll enjoy it anyway.....

Just making our way back from there:
- Cherbourg - plenty of room in the marina. Plenty of room in the marina. YC grub very good and affordable. Town nice but gets claustrophobic very quickly.
- Stay away from Fecamp - uncomfortable, crowded dump. Didn't like it 5 years ago, it hasn't improved. Regretted getting off the boat.
- St Valery en Caux - France as it shoud be. Facilities much improved since last year. Town still lovely, natives still friendly, food still great.
- Dieppe - nice and good facilities, well sheltered all directions. Getting expensive.
