Laurieton Camden Haven

Janet here. We spent our third night up the river in Laurieton as the weather has turned bad and we need to hide. It is very pretty here tho when the current hurtles up and down the river and the wind kicks in, we sail around our anchor and have many a fright in the night.

Yesterday we walked up North Brother mountain behind Laurieton, or should I say huffed and puffed and sweated up. The view made it worthwhile (see photo) and fortunately the other walks around here are flat! We will probably be here another three to four days. Right opposite us on the bank is the Laurieton United Servicemen's Club, where the meals are cheap, they have games (bridge tomorrow morning), a shower for yachties, etc. The clubs from former army guys here are fantastic re value for money and the services they offer. Many of them are also really trying to provide quality as opposed to quantity meals. The wind is still howling and I want to get a walk in before it starts raining again. Chiao for now.
