Just back from visiting our friends on Full Flight in Turkey. Christmas in the sun renewed our determination to escape the 9-to-5 treadmill and go cruising full time as soon as possible. But we also realised that over wintering in a marina full of ex-pats is not for us. So what plans for 2008 - this is going to be the year we get the racing thing out of our system - offshore on Clarionet, inland with our smart, new-to-us Enterprise "Spirit of Artemis" and a couple of Mediteranean classics as part of Dolfijn's crew. Temptress is going to undergo a bit of a refit, although I'm not certain thats the actual term for adding new stuff rather than renewing gear. Watermaker, windvane, solar panels and generator are on our wish list but we'll just have to see what the budget permits over the next year or so. Meanwhile we hope to follow up on our storming victory with Artemis in last weekend's Christmas Fun race at Minima YC and have entered the Bloody Mary, QMSC's annual January race on the high wide and windy reservoir - wet suits mandatory!
