Another Summer Draws to a CloseWhat a summer it has been....warm and windless in the most part - not exactly the best weather for offshore racing but Temptress has managed mid fleet results for the majority of her races and we did finish the RORC Fastnet race on the Friday. Now we are retiring (well that's the current plan) and next year will be devoted to cruising to places we've not yet reached eg Ireland and possibly Western Scotland.
First up though is a final weekend in the Solent with friends and then a lift out for some maintenance... anti-foul, new rudder bearings and a good polish of the topsides. This year the plan apparently is to do it ourselves - last time we did this was back in Gibralter in the winter of 2002. I somehow doubt that this October will be as warm as then.
