Description: These yachts are available to charter through Classic Sailing Club.Before they attend the Fife Regatta in June 08 a limited number of opportunites to sail on these yachts will be available to members.
The Duel of the Fifes will be a re-enactment of their famous match races on the Solent in 1914. The prize then was the satisfaction of being the fastest 8 in the world. Now they will race from Crinan. The prize? A case of Jura whiskey for the winning crew.
There will be only 10 Duels in June with six places on each.

Ierne and Truant, drawn to similar lines, were the last of the all conquering Fife first Rule 8 metre Yachts. Despite their similar lines, their rigs were miles apart. Ierne carried the new fangled, Marconi rig and excelled in light winds. Truant had the old style Gaff rig and preferred the heavier airs.
Here we follow their renovation and return to racing.

Although steeped in history, the Evans is essentially a new schooner with over 18,000 hours spent rebuilding her from keel to topsail. Originally an oyster-fisherman, she is a very shallow draft vessel, allowing us to haunt the coast getting close to the seals, eagles, lighthouses, and the small harbors we love.
Each day you will enjoy participating in the sailing of the vessel as well as relaxing as we meander among hundreds of pristine islands. You’ll indulge in three hearty meals a day, one of which will be a lobster bake on an uninhabited island complete with champagne (or sparkling cider) served by the Captain. Each evening we will anchor in a quiet cove or peaceful harbor where you can star-gaze from the deck or go exploring in one of our row boats. We have a great time singing, chasing other schooners, telling tall tales and enjoying Maine's spectacular beauty. From the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries to the complimentary chocolates and souvenir mugs in the cabins, you'll find that we don't cut corners on anything.
