Isa Lei is a Jarkan 10.5 aft-cabin sloop. I intend to sail her around Australia. The majority of the trip will be undertaken single-handed, but I do expect to be joined by friends and family for the occasional passage.

About Me
I retired from the Australian Army in March 2005 after more than 27 years service and decided that it was time to see a bit more of Australia. My intention is to spend the next 5 years, or thereabouts, sailing the Isa Lei on a circumnavigation of the country. The idea is to take her into every port, harbour and river that I can get her into. Isa Lei is my third yacht. The first was a Hartley TS 16, purchased in 1981, that rejoiced in the name of Latex Solar Beef. I am sure that if there are any Frank Zappa fans left out there, will understand the significance. Then I had a break of several years that included a marriage and subsequent divorce, a lot of sailing on other peoples yachts and the 1983 Sydney to Hobart Race. I bought a 30ft Clansman in 1999 which I renamed Morgana. Isa Lei was acquired late in 2004 with the intention of taking her around Australia. As well as being as a qualified Coastal Skipper by the Australian Yachting Federation, I have a Bachelor of Business from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. I am divorced with no kids which is why I have been able to afford to retire at 47 and pursue my somewhat selfish plans for the future.

Interests
Apart from the obvious sailing, my other passion is for motorcycles. I currently own a rather well used BMW touring bike. At the end of the current sailing adventure, I plan to see the interior of Australia, and possibly some overseas destinations by bike.
