The work on Myfanwy got off to a great start at the weekend. She is getting a new galley, including a new gas installation and cooker. Jonathan also ripped out miles of wiring made obsolete by her new Tacktick wireless instruments.
Ben Sykes from International Boatbuilding Training College (www.ibtc.co.uk) in Lowestoft has been helping out at weekends and this time he pitched up with two other colleagues; Alex Amic and Ray Jones. Always enthusiastic but meticulous, they set about Marcita with a vengeance and she's now ready to come out of the tent to make way for Myfanwy.
We are keen to forge strong links with IBTC who are this region's centre of excellence in the boatbuilding world. We are discussing the possibility of week long placements for students and a long term renovation project. |
