Jonathan and Jonjo continued with the adventure and amazingly Myfanwy arrived on time..almost ( thanks Neil for being so accomodating) and looking very smart.
Saturday started well and interest was very high. Sarah and I were there too and were very busy until a deluge at lunch time which gave us a great opportunity assess the watertightness of Mayfanwy's deck. All ok apart from a leaky hatch which is easy to fix. The skies cleared and things picked up intil 3.30 when rain stopped play again. I was secretly pleased because I got the chance to see one of the best cup finals for years.
Sunday was much better, and again we had lots of interest and we think quite a few new members.
Lowestoft Boat Show is a modest affair but very friendly and we will definitely be back next year. We have found being the only classic exhibitors at a show is great fun. Everybody loves you and so many have great memories of their days on wooden yachts, sometimes on one of ours.
Incidentally any members who want to volunteer to help at shows will be most welcome. |
