9th May 2005 - Two Weeks to departure, but hell - who's Counting?

Sue and I will be casting off from Lymington early am Saturday 21st to make Dartmouth on Sunday 22nd May.  Suspect departure evening will be a Lymington party night with local pals so need to ensure adequate asprins for the following day. 

Our plan is to pick up crew Ms Robbie Smith, a like minded Ozzie flying into the UK to join us on Tuesday.  We want to also visit Salcombe prior to arrival in Plymouth by  Thursday 26th when the remainder (another three bodies) making up our Biscay leg crew, board ship.

The Rally Start from Plymouth is Sunday 29th at 9 am. 

We have Gerry Pentleton from Fife who did this leg with us last year, along with Marcus Tettmar and partner Angie who we met last year when they also sailed their own Hanse 371 to the Algave as part of Rally Portugal.

Marcus and Angie step off in Bayona and on comes Sara - Gerry's partner - and they will both stick with us for a further seven days down to probably Figuera da Foz or possibly longer.

Robbie will hang in with us for the duration of the Rally and then onward up along the east coast of Spain.  She has to catch a plane back to Oz from the UK on 1st July - so it just depends how far we get as to which airport from Spain she will use to depart.  Probably Malaga.

Sue and I will then continue on up the coast to Denia where we have other pals joining us for a sail over to the Balearics, and from then on it is a procession of pals and family on and off the boat through to end August.

So who's counting days?  Guess what - I am.
