Swagmans Sailing Blog

Come on in and say hello via a 'comment'. We've cruised our Hanse 46' sailboat from UK to Egypt to the Caribbean mainly two handed from 2004 to 2008 - and enjoyed every minute. We are back temporarily in the UK - but sunshine beckons us again for next summer.

9th - 11th September 2005 - Palma

Posted at 2:07 PM, Monday, September 19, 2005

Flew in from Bournemouth for the weekend in Palma using cheapo air ticketing from Tomson Flights.  Left home at 5.45 am - on plane by 0700 - on board by 10.45am Palma time.  Excellent service and a real shame Tomson Flights will stop end October.....

Met up with elder son Alex who starts work next week with Swedish Syndicate for Americas Cup 07.  Alex is on shore and race crew for second boat, but as he'd never seen this Swagman let alone sailed it due to current owrk overseas, it seemed a good idea to try and meet up.

We spent the weekend getting him familiar with the gear and parking / anchoring - just in case he wishes to sneak over from Valencia to use Swagman through the winter months.  Great bloky blokes weekend.  Got a headache - and an empty wallet.

Cheers

JOHN
