Come on in and say hello via a 'comment'. We've cruised our Hanse 46' sailboat from UK to Egypt to the Caribbean mainly two handed from 2004 to 2008 - and enjoyed every minute. We are back temporarily in the UK - but sunshine beckons us again for next summer.

Route Planning Software - Very Good

Posted at 1:55 PM, Thursday, October 13, 2005

Receipted delivery from USA of the Visual Planning software and have been able to input our projected delivery trip for next April.

This software using averages of winds / current and taking into account the boat speed profile, allows you to create your route easily.  Using it on our planned trip from Mallorca to Istambul next April - is says we should take 9.5 days if sailing non-stop - and we'll experience ony a 3% risk of gales.  Hope it is accurate!

Silly eh - it is seven months away - and I'm already beginning to get excited!

Cheers

JOHN
