Hi everyone, We are currently weathered-in at Oban but still enjoying ourselves. We have watched the start on the "Three Peaks Yacht Race" and been on long bike rides as well as exploring small little local anchorages. We seem to have had better weather than our friends and family in Whitby and Manchester but gales are forcasted and are preventing us from venturing very far from the shelter of Oban Bay. We are enjoying a beautiful, secluded and more importantly free mooring - thanks to John and Mo !! Catch up with you all soon. 

 We have had a good sail down Loch Lochy and have reached Fort William so now we can do some uploading at an internet cafe at last. The weather has been fantastic - hot and sunny every day. If it wasn't for the scenery, we wouldn't believe we were in Scotland!!

Hi everyone we are half way through the canal at Fort Augustus. Sorry no facility to send more photos but will update when we reach Fort William. The weather is fantastic for May and we are enjoying the peace and quiet of out-of -season travel. Picked up some strange readings on the sonar in Loch Ness - seemed like a very big fish!!!Catch you later. Dave and Sue

Arrived safely in Peterhead after a fantastic sail up from Eyemouth. We had a steady westerly wind and were doing over 7 knots at times with reefed sails! It was our first overnight sail of the trip and the sunrise over the sea was awesome. Now I know why we are doing this! After a day of essential repairs we will be off again. We need good weather to round Ratray Head and enter the Moray Firth and so far the winds are forcasted NW - just the direction we want to go! Arrived in Scotland after a good sail from Amble to Eyemouth. Looks like we will be here a while whilst we wait for a good weather forcast to take us up to Peterhead - about 20 hours away. Eyemouth is a lovely little fishing village with free internet access in the library- hence the update!

We are now living aboard Fiona in Hartlepool Marina and are waiting for the weather to improve so we can sail north to Scotland. Our plan is to spend the summer exploring the Western Isles before sailing south - hopefully to the Spanish Rias for winter.
